Time and Work Problem Shortcut Tricks for Bank PO SSC Railway Exam

In Quantitive aptitude, Time And Work are one of the most important topics. It Plays a major role in any competitive Examination like Bank PO, SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, Railways etc. Generally, 2-3 questions are expected any pre level Exam but In SSC CGL Tier-2, 5-6 Questions are expected from Time And work Chapter.

In Time And Work Type-1 I am going to discuss some important Time and Work Problem Shortcut Tricks which are frequently asked in Bank PO, SSC CGL, SSC CHSL, Railways etc Exam.

Trick-1: If A can do a certain work in x days and B can complete same work in y days if they work together then they will complete the work in

(Q1)A can do a certain work in 10 days and B can complete same work in 15 days if they work together then in how many days works gets done.

Solution:

(A+B)’s 1 day work=3+2=5 unit

Time taken by (A+B)=30/5

= 6 days Ans.

Rough:[L.C.M of 10 and 15=30 now 30/10=3 unit and 30/15=2 unit]

i.e 2(A+B+C)1 day work=12 units

∴ (A+B+C)1 day work=12/2 units

=6 units.

Efficiency of A=(A+B+C)-(B+C)

=6 Units – 4 Units

=2 Units

Efficiency of B=(A+B+C)-(C+A)

=6 Units – 3 Units

=3 Units

Efficiency of C=(A+B+C)-(A+B)

=6 Units – 5 Units

=1 Units

Time taken by A=120/2

=60 Days

Time taken by B=120/3

=40 Days

Time taken by A=120/1

=120 Days

=4 Units – 2 Units

=2 Units

Efficiency of C=(A+B+C)-(A+B)

=4 Units – 3 Units

=1 Units

(A+C)’s 1 day work=2+1=3 unit

Time taken by( A+C)=24/3

=8 days Ans.
